I wish I could say copywriters have a magical 5th sense that allows them to peer into your soul and discover what resonates with you…
It’s tempting, but I doubt you’d believe it.
The truth is, we’re just highly analytical and skilled at spotting patterns in vast amounts of data.
Everything we experience—what we see, hear, taste, smell, and feel—becomes a potential data point.
Our job is to gather these insights (by paying attention to how people communicate) and craft them into concise, impactful sentences that speak directly to the audience’s needs.
Let’s say you live in a cozy home, but as winter sets in, you’re suddenly freezing at night, tossing and turning.
The next morning, you’re tired, cranky, and realize—you have a problem.
What’s the first thing most of us do when we have a problem?
We talk about it.
Whether it’s on Facebook, YouTube, or forums like Reddit, people are always sharing their frustrations and looking for solutions.
And this is where copywriters come in. We listen to these conversations, understand the problems, and communicate the best solution.
Now, we all know you need a blanket when you’re cold. But sometimes, you need a little help deciding which blanket is just right for you.
Copywriting isn’t about magic(although words are powerful spells); it’s about understanding people’s needs and showing them the best way to solve their problems.
And while we’re not telepathic(yet), we’ve gotten pretty good at guiding you to the perfect solution.
