1 – Customer first
With all the latest flashy tools, AI and(mainly AI), many websites have become overly complex and aneurism inducing.
After countless hours of analyzing top performing websites and tweaking my own, here’s what I have found.
Ask yourself these 3 questions as you scroll down your website:
Does anything I’m reading here make me want to come back ?
What is the recurring theme/feeling I get when interacting with the website ?
Do I feel motivated to explore more pages, products, or services after reading the homepage ?
Now of course there are many more questions that help evaluate user experience and engagement, but those three I have found(I’ve built a few websites) are vital in establishing a baseline.
2 – Personalization = Profit
According to research done by a verifiable source, business is personal.
Yes, I know the suits say “It’s nothing personal, it’s just business” but who trusts them anyway?
Website personalization comes in many forms, it’s important to first understand your target customer.
The best way to accomplish this task is by using cookies, basically you give your victims – I mean customers – one of those and boom!..
Now you’re legally authorized to digitally stalk them forever.
Here are some personalization tips:
- Personalized Email campaigns
Email remains the most underutilized marketing channel. Send follow-up emails with personalized content or product recommendations after customers browse specific pages or abandon their cart. Tailor subject lines and email content to speak directly to their interests.(Or pay me to do it for you) - Personalize CTAs and Messaging
A returning customer might see a “Welcome Back, Explore New Arrivals” button, while a new visitor might see a “Start Your Journey” or “Sign Up for Exclusive Offers” CTA, making it more relevant to their engagement level.(I also specialize in writing good call to action sequences)
3 – Speed
2 seconds !
You’ve heard “first impressions are important” , Right?
But have you experienced how fast the human brain makes a judgement call?
That’s STANDARD page load time, if your website is not loading in under 2 seconds it might as well not exist at all !
Waiting in line is lame in person, no one wants to wait online… was that a pun idk.
Is your website fast enough?
While improving website speed can be a highly technical endeavor, I have (yet again) spent 100’s of hours out of the kindness of my heart to bring you these top 3 insights:
- Get a good cache plugin
- Optimize images (Webp format works best in almost all cases)
- Use a CDN – content delivery network
- Here’s a good plugin with all the above.
